Weekly Wrap Up – 7th September

Wrap Up

So it’s been another week in the bookish world and I’m so glad to be returning to it! After 11 months of consistent blogging, taking 2 weeks off felt really weird but I knew I’d come back and here I am!

Just because I haven’t been blogging, doesn’t mean I haven’t been buying ALL the books!

This week I added

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Sparks

Isla and the Happily Ever After

Dead Ends by Erin Lange

mr darcy

Finding Mr Darcy by Erin Butler

and

Made for You by Melissa Marr

  read

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Sparks

This was a read for school and it was incredibly RUBBISH but hey that was predictable so no surprises, seriously it’s about this delusional teacher who is grooming this 12 year old for sex with the art teacher so that it seems like she will be having sex with him by proxy, its just WTF

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

It was super cute, I LOVED IT  and it will probably get reviewed soon (but no promises, I warned you that I was gonna be flaky for the time being)

life in gifs

So in my post about the new and improved Scarlett’s book blog, I said I’d be talking more about less booky things i.e tv and my life so this is a new feature I’m going to be adding to my weekly wrap up where I tell y’all about my week in GIF form, well mostly.

So my life at my new school is in full swing and I appear to be failing maths,

confusedbut acing English!

boo yah

I had to write a reflective essay, the subject of which was “How Books Have Shaped Me as a Person” and I LOVED writing about it. It caused me to make some realizations about myself and brought on a LIFE CHANGING EPIPHANY!

epiphany

It occurred to me that I really enjoyed writing, particularly trying to craft together sentences and I realized that that’s what i want to do with my life! I want to be a writer! To me this was groundbreaking news but everyone I told about it replied with:

called it

So it was only me who this was news to

Sam SPN Seriously

not expecting

but hey, at least I’m not stuck in a confusion of

Friends Doing with my life
dont know how to answer

So there’s that.

Also, panto rehearsal have started so yay! I’d like to clarify for all you American Folk what a pantomime is “a theatrical entertainment, mainly for children, which involves music, topical jokes, and slapstick comedy and is based on a fairy tale or nursery story, usually produced around Christmas.”

It’s great fun and there are SO MANY awesome songs in it this year which I am thrilled about!

yay

woot

In other news, I am effectively homeless for the next two weeks. My granny has gone on holiday which means I’m moving around from family member to family member until she gets back so that’s going to be an experience.

Posts of the week

Guess Who Moved to Scotland! ( And That’s What he Said Thursday)

tv

Okay so I finished Supernatural (heartbreaking stuff) and so I’ve been watching a SHIT TON of clips from that on Youtube because I seem to have like a Jared and Jensen Quota which I need to fill each day or else I can’t function, so there’s that.

But also at the request of the guy I sit next to in Chemistry, and the dude who sits behind me, and the lady in the ceramics shop, I have continued Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6 and OH MY GOD! I’m just casually watching and then the next episode comes on and BUFFY STARTS SINGING! i had forgotten there was a musical episode and it was simultaneously the creepiest and most adorable thing I have ever seen, LOVED IT! I think my favourite number was Anya and Xander’s rom-comesque duet, It was really cute!

I know right! It’s like if I don’t get a dail dose then I could die from J2 withdrawal! Why thank you, I go to ridiculous lengths to use gifs from my fandoms (and it contributes toward the quota). Yeah, granny’ away but theres noting to be done about it, trying to see it as an adventure 🙂
